Short-term rental regulations in the Vosges

Everything you need to know to rent out your property legally. Declaration, tourist tax, registration number: we explain it all.

Understanding short-term rental regulations

The rental of furnished tourist accommodation (Airbnb, Booking, Abritel, etc.) is governed by several laws that have evolved in recent years. In 2025, the regulations became even stricter, with new obligations for property owners.

New rules for 2025-2026

The law of 19 November 2024 strengthens these obligations: a mandatory energy performance certificate (DPE), a cap on the number of nights, and reinforced municipal controls.

The 3 mandatory steps

1

Declaration to the town hall (CERFA 14004)

Mandatory in every municipality. You receive a registration number to display on your listings.

2

Tourist tax

Collected from your guests and remitted to the municipality. The amount varies depending on the property's classification.

3

Appropriate insurance

Your standard home insurance does not cover rental activity. Specific insurance coverage is essential.
